CIS Controls Version 8
CIS Controls V8 (Center for Internet Security Controls Version 8) is a set of cybersecurity best practices designed to help organizations improve their overall security posture. It is a framework that outlines a prioritized set of actions that organizations can take to protect their systems and data from cyber threats.
CIS Controls V8 consists of 18 high-level security controls that are organized into three categories: Basic, Foundational, and Organizational. The controls are designed to be implemented in a specific order, starting with the Basic controls and moving up to the Organizational controls.
XeneX platform maps to CIS Controls and has developed tools for automated security configuration assessments based on these controls. Here is a nice illustration of the updates between version 7 and 8 of CIS Controls. Implementing these controls can help organizations reduce their cybersecurity risk and protect against common cyber threats such as malware, phishing attacks, and data breaches.
